Mouser Electronics, a global authorized distributor of electronic components focusing on the introduction of new products, is pleased to announce that Mouser Electronics will begin selling the full range of Qorvo Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology products (formerly Decawave) from now on. Qorvo’s UWB product portfolio uses advanced pulse radio UWB technology to perform distance/position measurement with centimeter-level accuracy. It can also provide low power consumption and low power for applications such as automobiles, mobile devices, industrial and consumer Internet of Things (IoT). Delayed secure data communication.

Qorvo is a well-known supplier of innovative RF solutions that help achieve global interconnection. The company recently acquired Decawave, a provider of advanced UWB technology that specializes in UWB solutions for mobile devices, automotive and IoT applications. Decawave UWB products have successfully entered more than 40 vertical markets, including industrial automation, logistics, hospitals, automobiles, household robots, connected homes, and sports markets. After Decawave merged into Qorvo, it became the Ultra Broadband Business Unit (UWBU) of Qorvo Mobile Products.

The Qorvo UWB technology product series supplied by Mouser includes DW1000 radio IC and two modules using DW1000 IC. DW1000 UWB transceiver IC is the world’s first single-chip wireless transceiver based on UWB technology. This IC can help engineers develop a cost-effective real-time positioning system (RTLS) solution with indoor and outdoor positioning accuracy of less than 10 cm, conforming to the IEEE802.15.4-2011 standard, and supporting data transmission rates of up to 6.8 Mbps.

DWM1000 module integrates DW1000 IC, antenna, power management and clock components, which can simplify the design and integration with various microcontrollers. The module supports time of flight (ToF) and time difference of arrival (TDoA) positioning architectures for RTLS and wireless network applications, and is suitable for applications in agriculture, building control, factory automation, and healthcare.

Qorvo’s DWM1001 module combines DW1000 IC, Nordic Semiconductor nRF52832 System-on-Chip (SoC), 3-axis accelerometer and integrated antenna to create a solution that can reduce RF and hardware design requirements to a very low level. Mouser also supplies the DWM1001-DEV for development, which contains the DWM1001 module, battery connector and charging circuit, LEDs, buttons, Raspberry Pi compatible connections and USB connectors. In addition, this development board also comes with J-Link OB, which can provide additional debugging and virtual COM port functions.
